Throughout my 10+ years of professional experience in marketing and communications, I have always had one goal in mind – to do marketing and communication that will help address issues within a wide variety of communities. This has always been at the heart of my work and that is what is drives me to create strategy and content that makes a difference. After I received my master’s degree in business administration from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, I continued my career path as the Communications Coordinator at 9Health. It was here that I was able to work closely with 9NEWS(KUSA) and local Colorado medical experts, such as 9Health Medical Expert, Dr. Payal Kohli. This was an opportunity to create strategy and content about health topics that matter to Coloradans.
During my time at 9Health, I provided detailed marketing strategies and promotional materials for flagship products (i.e., 9Health Fairs and preventive health screenings) as well as new initiatives to motivate people to make their health a priority year-round. Working in the nonprofit sector has allowed me to build strategies for a variety of audiences including, Coloradans, health industry partners, sponsors, and local media outlets, including 9NEWS(KUSA). Over the years of working and volunteering with non-profit organizations, I have come to realize that putting people first generates better results. When you put your focus on why you are doing the work that you do, I believe it is truly reflected in anything you produce. It resonates better with people and shows the genuine nature of what you are trying to communicate.
